Touring Philly

The day after the battleship visit, I took in some of the most famous sights in Philadelphia.  First I went downtown and saw the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and then I drove out to Valley Forge, which is just outside Philly.

Commodore Barry, the Father of the American Navy. Washington's statue is on the other side the Hall.

The place where it all happened.

An interesting clock on the west side of the Hall. Apparently the bell tower didn't have clocks until 1828.

Replicas of the cabins Washington & his men used

National Memorial Arch

George Washington's headquarters. There was an active archeological excavation going on immediately behind the house.
